Business Website Launch Checklist
Check the customer journey
Read the offer and click the main navigation from a phone and desktop. Complete the primary action with clearly marked test data. Confirm the business received it and can respond.
- Content: correct identity, services, contact details and approved proof.
- Forms: labels, validation, delivery, confirmation and duplicate handling.
- Commerce or booking: successful and failed flows where included.
- Accessibility: keyboard operation, visible focus and readable text.
- Performance: sensible image sizes and usable loading on a slower connection.
Check search and operations
Confirm important pages return successful responses, use their intended canonical URLs and are not accidentally marked noindex. Validate the sitemap and robots file. Test any redirects from changed URLs and check internal links for old destinations. Confirm HTTPS, domain ownership, analytics configuration and access for the people who maintain the site.
Leave a launch record
Record the deployed version, checks performed, known limitations and rollback approach. Make one real production smoke test after deployment; a local preview is not proof that production forms and environment settings work. Check Search Console for discovery and indexing signals over time. Submitting a sitemap helps discovery but does not guarantee that every page will be indexed or ranked. Assign an owner for enquiries and future maintenance.
