Facebook Ads Not Converting? Diagnose the Funnel

When Facebook Ads generate clicks without enquiries or purchases, inspect the whole conversion journey. Increasing spend before finding the broken step can magnify the problem.

Trace one visitor journey

Open the actual ad destination on a phone. Confirm the page loads, the offer matches, the form works and the confirmation reaches the business. Then check whether the platform records that real action. Separate a lack of customers from a lack of tracking.

  • Few impressions: inspect account, ad approval and delivery conditions.
  • Impressions without useful clicks: review message relevance and the creative.
  • Clicks without landing visits: test speed, redirects and destination availability.
  • Visits without actions: inspect trust, offer fit and form or checkout friction.
  • Actions without recorded conversions: test the event definition and integration.

Use a specific hypothesis

Illustrative example: 200 reported clicks but only 70 landing-page visits suggests investigating loading or measurement differences before blaming the form. If qualified enquiries exist in the CRM but the platform shows none, fixing reporting is the first task. Small samples may not distinguish a weak offer from normal variation.

Choose one repair and verify it

Record the current numbers and change the most plausible issue first. Complete a test action after each technical repair. For an offer or creative test, agree the outcome and review window beforehand. Check whether the resulting leads are usable, not merely more numerous. Keep an annotated change log so future campaign reviews can connect an improvement with what actually changed.
